For my first home project of Art 4, I wanted to do something with sculpture. I looked into different mediums, such as clay, found objects, and ultimately decided on using cardboard. I have been collecting cardboard boxes for the past few weeks, and I have a pretty good feel for how I'm going to execute my ideas, but I know it's going to include a lot of trial and error. I am also not very good at sculpture with mediums other than clay, especially cardboard, which is partially why I wanted to try using cardboard because I know that I'll have more time to experiment during a home project. I hope everything works out! My idea is kind of hard to explain, but I want it to be an optical illusion, where I cut out certain layers from cardboard so that when viewed from one angle it looks like two people hugging each other, but when perceived from any other angle, the hug falls apart into 1) either the anatomy of each person's skeleton and heart, or 2) it simply falls apart to gibberish and unrecognizable imagery, but imagery nonetheless. I don't know if that makes any sense, and I don't know if seeing my brainstorming sketches will help, but I've included them down below anyways.
